W 2009 roku głośno było o badaniach prowadzonych na zlecenie rządu Austrii nad wpływem karmy GMO na zdrowie zwierząt, które wykazały, że GMO powoduje zmniejszenie płodności myszy doświadczalnych. Dziś Prof. Alberta Velimirov, która brała udział w tych badaniach pisze, że są na nią wywierane naciski, aby zmanipulowała wyniki doświadczeń przed ich publikacją. Poproszono ją, aby wyeliminowała z dalszych analiz i obliczeń te wszystkie myszy, które nie dały potomstwa albo, których potomstwo padło. Ponieważ pani Profesor nie chce się zgodzić na taką manipulację, nie ma zgody, aby opublikowała wyniki swoich badań. A badania nieopublikowane w naukowym czasopiśmie – nie istnieją dla społeczności naukowej. W ten sposób zwolennicy GMO mogą powtarzać swoją mantrę „nie ma żadnych badań, które wskazywałyby na szkodliwość tej żywności”. Prof. Velimirov napisała do polskich współpracowników: „Możecie o tym mówić całemu światu. Przecież to nie tajemnica, że Monsanto robi co może, aby zatrzymać publikację wyników, które mogą źle świadczyć o ich produktach. Część naukowców poddaje się, bo boją się trudności w uzyskaniu grantów na swoje dalsze badania. Ja się jeszcze nie poddałam”
Oto list od dr Alberty Velimirov, który dowodzi manipulacji danymi naukowymi wskutek nacisków naukowców, będących najprawdopodobniej pod wpływem Monsanto.
Dr Velimirov pozwoliła upublicznić ten problem – przedtem nie chciała o tym mówić, gdyż spotkała ją krzywda – zakazano jej dalszych badań i wysłano na emeryturę. Była to silna trauma, ale teraz Alberta postanowiła ujawnić te fakty.

glad to hear from you and I know how difficult this GMO bussiness is!!! I went through quite something at the time and it is still not finished, since the Ministry here does not want me to publish the paper on the feeding trials without including my cooperators, which is impossible – we don’t see eye to eye. It has been proposed to eliminate all females without litters or litters that have died during lactation and only calculate average litter size of the surviving litters. But this does not make sense since the number of pups born in a group is an important parameter for productivity of course! Therefore I don’t agree to this manipulation of data and a concerted publication is not possible. I have still written the publication and it is available on Organic Eprints as final report. This is not ideal but at least it is available for the public.(https://orgprints.org/19253/). I also attach it so you don’t have to look for it. You can talk about it as much as you like, it is no secret that Monsanto hinder all publications which might implicate their products and some scientists give in, since they worry about funding future projects.
Therefore it is also impossible to discuss scientific findings in an objective way, it alway gets personal and harms the image of science a lot. I still am not over it as you notice, it makes me so angry!!! Tell me how you got along, please!!
